What is the Stardew Valley Character Creator?

The Stardew Valley Character Creator is a free, browser-based tool for designing a pixel-art portrait in the warm, cozy style of farming and life-sim games. You choose a masculine or feminine base, then layer up the details - face shape, eyes, brows, nose, mouth, freckles and scars, hairstyles, bangs, facial hair, shirts, sleeves, jackets, special outfits, accessories and hats - and recolour everything from a set of hand-picked palettes.

When you're happy with your character, you can download it as a crisp 256×256 PNG or a tidy 64×64 icon, with an optional transparent background - perfect for Discord avatars, tabletop tokens, stream and forum icons, or just for fun.

What is this website?

This website is a free, ad-supported home for the creator. There's no sign-up and nothing to install - everything runs right in your browser, and your work stays on your own device. Head to the creator to start making your character.

The tool & the art

We built this character creator from scratch - the interface, the live preview, the colour engine and every feature here are our own work. Some of the pixel art is used under a free license, with big thanks to Poltergeister for sharing it with the community. The creator is completely free, and the portraits you make are yours to use freely - we just ask that you don't sell them. See our terms for the details.
